Does this sound about right?

Ok, mates car, 93 KH Laser, FWD Turbo (1.8BPT)
Its got

-3 inch mandrel bent exhaust, extremely high flowing muffler.
- 3 inch dump pipe off the turbo.
- Motech MT8 Engine Management.
- Large, front mount intercooler
- induction mods (obviously)
- Premium plugs/Leads
- Ceramic Button clutch/ LSD Gbox (not really relevant.:)
- Boosted to about 16psi.
- Tuned for PULP only, will need to be retuned in summer to prevent pinging in the hot weather.

Now, I realise most of you guys are prolly into bigger pieces of machinery, but what kind of power figures would those of you who know be expecting at the flywheel from this setup?

Mate, they are some serious mods!

I hope he's looked after the internals as well.

I think they put out about 117kw at the flywheel standard, so with those types of mods if done properly it should have gained somewhere around 60kw.

Nah, internal are stock at the moment, holding up ok - going by the when it breaks, fix it and upgrade it ethos
We were expecting about 180odd flywheel kw's, but dynoed its putting out about 120 @wheels, which equates to about 150-60 at the flywheel - we were slightly disappointed.

I think opening up the ports, solid lifters and a more aggresive cam on top of those mods would do the trick!

Don't be disapointed with those power figures, afterall the car is light and should still be a sling shot. But watch that gearbox....

Nah, nuts to all that, he's just gunna get a slightly bigger ball bearing turbo when that lets go - and yea she flies, already killed a couple of g/box's as well as twisted a driveshaft completely in half (was amazing.) Its current got a Mechanical LSD in it, with a rebuild VLSD ready to go when this one lets go.

Elvis,

You might already know, but there were two versions of gearbox's for the laser. Turbo and non turbo. They look identical but the turbo ones have bigger bearings and are alot stronger.
