Glass is a liquid.. As time goes on it will get thinner at the top and thicker at the bottom.
Also you'll find that old glass is not toughened as the old windscreens were just laminated glass. I don't know if auto glass was ever mercury floated but that may have some different strength differences to drawn glass. How old of glass are you talking about? Most modern glass also has some form of coating and light factory tinting - that helps hold it in place..
yeah i think it weakens over time my ea's glass scratches really easy
