A domino fall of probs,Is it electrical or mechanical?? wit this ghia 5L pls help!!

My boyf has a 96? Ghia 5L (auto sedan), done 380kkms, know thats heaps but the car still has life thou here is a few probs we are all stuck on.... pweease help us
* Car constantly stays in 1st will rev to 4.5 grand!!!, u can even select 1st, 2nd & 3rd manually and it'll stay in 1st revving it's head off!
* Occasionally whilst stationary oil pressure beeps and lights come on till u roll fwd(my boyf, uses high quality oil and svc reg.)
* Even with heavy duty bat smtimes car doesnt want to kick over and u never get a full charge(always on 2nd line)
I hope i have given u enough info to receive some help, its embarrassing driving it - u should see the looks we get, ppl think were thrashing it!! so pleeease tell us what your thoughts are.

Got a few questions:
Have you checked the tranny fluid? and has the tranny fluid and filter ever been changed?
How old is the heavy duty battery? Has it been tested or load tested?
Has the charging system been checked?
Oils pressure-- I would install a mechanical gauge to verify what the oil pressure really is.
