Door lock problem !!!!

My friend broke the left rear door handle somehow inside a few months ago (it will only open from the inside). He insisted he will fix it, so he took the door apart yesterday but bloody put the childs lock on and then closed the door... now can't open it from inside or outside and have someone having 2nd look at the car on sunday

I suspect the only way to get it open is to remove the door trim while the door is shut and get at it from the inside.
It can be done, I've owned 2 XD's and an XF, so Ive had my fair share of broken door handles in he past.

hey that dont sound like fun.

never tried it with the door shut , as they have the self tapers on the trim in sted of locating pegs..

just have a magnetized ten mill socket thingo handy as there bastards when you drop em.

I brought it into mechanic who struggled with it for a day, but they did manage to get the door open. I picked the car up in the morning with door trim, seats and bolts all over the place. My friend and I managed to fix the outside handle (was a hook had come off) and put it all back together again as new ! It was hard work but really paid off nicely in the end. Came up great.
