I drive a 1949 Ford Tudor Sedan with a 239 flathead. I decided to change the oil for the first time since I got it (relax, it hasn't really moved since then) and I realized that I have no idea where the new oil goes. I figured it went into the filter housing that sits on top of the engine, but I poured in half a quart and it hasn't flowed into the engine yet. I cannot figure out anywhere else the oil might go. Please feel free to mock me accordingly.
First pic of the engine, I would think the oil should go in the breather cap. I only owned one flat head, (willys jeep), and that was probably 25 years ago. My memory has probably faded. If you pull the cap, you should be able to tell if that is where the oil goes.
Let us know how you make out with it.
