ea cfi running rich ?

hey peoples, my bothers ea cfi seems to be running WAY too rich (runs rough, fuel smell frome exhaust, black smoke when revved in nuetral) how is this fixed on them or what else could it be . Thanx

It could be the MAP sensor. It's a little black thing screwed to the firewall with a vacuum hose and a few wires coming out of it. With the car running, remove the vacuum hose and see if the car runs any differently. If not it's pretty safe to assume the MAP is stuffed or there is a blockage/crack somewhere between the manifold and the sensor.

what is the correct way to reset the computer on these?
what about oxygen senser ? where is the oxy senser located ? anyone ???

The oxy sensor is on the exhaust manifold but I don't think it will be the problem, its only used when in closed loop mode.
I tend to agree with EA11_fairmont.

Just take a battery lead off for 1/2 an hour (might be more?) or so and the computer will reset, try it but I doubt it ill fix the problem.
