The air con on my car doesn't work and personally even if it did I wouldn't use it because of the increased fuel use and general not liking air con much...

Is there any legal aspects of removing this belt? Not a canary at all? Does the belt help to balance the pulleys at all? And how much difference would there be if it was removed anyway? Chances are I won't sell the car for a long time yet and even if I do my father reckons he wants first dibs on it anyway so I don't need it for resale value..

N.B. You will need to replace the gas and seals before you can use your air con again as the seals will dry out and leak after 12 months or less of non-use.

Yeah I know about it leaking and the seals going but it hasn't been going for over three years now anyway so I really don't care about getting it fixed.. Was told I would be looking at $700 which I'd rather spend on other things...

Dan, you porbably use more fuel driving around with the windows down (extra drag, turbulence) than you would with using modern aircon setup.

Yeah well it's just a preference of mine that I don't like air con air - maybe I am just strange but I am not keen on it..
