Could anyone tell me if there is any way to get more power out of my EA without megga $$$ spent on it, such as little tips and tricks?

TURBO LPG!
Yeah I know it costs a lot but it still the best way to go IMHO.
Other wise go exhaust, air filter, mild cam and your laughing.
cat back exhaust would cost around $250 for an ok one (mild steel not stainless) extractors or headers expect to pay around $400 fitted. Air filter and cold air kit would be around $300 and a cam could cost up to $1000 but on ok one should cost below $300.
All up that's under a grand for a good bit of differance.

Also, if it's the 3 speed, a manual conversion would make a huge difference to performance and economy.
