hey guys this is my first post. just a quick question on my eb 4.0. its DEAD stock apart from a wade 1004, with 112 , 310 kpa fuel pressure, air temp sensor in pod tubeing instead of manifold, 2 1/2 exhaust with one semi ofset muffler, and 3.7's lsd. oh and the shitest auto ever the 85le.
it pulls like hell to 5700 where that nasty thing called rev limiter kicks in, will an ea computer fit into my early eb, as the ea's dont have rev limiters. i just want to pull to 6000 as with 3.7's you run out of legs quickly
If you dont mind spending a little $, have a chat to chiptorque. for $700 that will give you a piggy back chip that will get rid of the rev and speed limiters and tune the engine for your cam and other mods. It would probably help your performance a lot as you might find you car is running rich at WOT (mine certainly was with similar mods but 1004-110 cam - 10.5 AFR)
did u have the higher fuel pressure as well, This eb doesnt have a speed limiter as its series one, you can pin the speedo against the dash board....
I had an ef cam in it at first, i was really impressed with the ef cam, then i got a crow stage 1 it was SHIT the ef cam crapped on it, This wade cam kicks arse,
I didnt have the high pressure reg. It was running rich with the stock reg so I didnt want any more fuel going in. I pulled the head off after 5000k's with this setup and everything was black with carbon build up so I ordered a chiptorque right away. I was thinking of going unichip coz I really would like to have the comp real time tuned to my car, but the chiptorque chips can make your car idle a lot better and can get rid of all the limiters. Also, I paid $595 for my chip (costs 100 more to get rid of the speed limiter - which I guess you wont need) and installed it myself. I was quoted $1250 for unichip installed and tuned. Just give them as much info about your engine as possible. I gave them my cam card, head flow tests, and a before dyno so I am pretty sure my program is close to what I could get with real-time setup.
I personally found the wade 1004-110 a bit tame but I think that my computer was never able to come to grips with it for some reason.
