After installing the AU series III clear side indicators on my brother's car, and using information gained from my previous thread, I have now written up a guide for anyone else that wishes to do the same mod, and wants information. Includes easy step by step instructions and lots of pretty pictures!

lol after reading a couple of these in a few days i reliesed that i put mine in backwards however i think they look ok withe the swept back look as opposed to the pointy arrowhead look

That is the same way I have put mine in also, backwards to the AU position. From what I could see, some more extensive modifications would be required to install them the other way, as you described the arrowhead way, as the different size clips, front and back, would require some changes to the moulding.

So yours do look like all the other ones I have personally seen!

EDIT: People have told me they fit in the AU way without any more modification, although mine threatened to break when I tried this. If it works, then it works, but I had no success trying it this way. Cheers.

cant you flip the light fitting around 180degs in its hole, allowing the lens to fit on the "right" way?

just a thought - i havent tried this

The lense is an arrowhead shape, and the clips on the front and back are two different widths. The two matching grooves in the guards are also different widths and match up when the arrowhead faces the rear of the car.

But yeah, people have said it works either way, so, if it does, then it does! LOL.

The particular lenses you fitted --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zantetsuken are from the AU1 Fairmont/Ghia/Fairlane Ghia. So be careful people of what you ask for. The AU3 Ones are clear and require a new amber bulb, while the AU1 ones only require the lense as it allready has an amber colour bulb surround in it. I have personally found that the AU3 with the amber bulb flash a brighter orange while the AU1's are quite dull.
