Hi, just after a bit of info on correct reset procedures for an EB Series 2 EEC 4, 6 cyl.
Can anyone here shed some light on the CORRECT way to do it and also provide additional info on resets for different components, ie auto trans, for best performance?

Also apart from reprogramming the eec, whats the best way to achieve firmer changes from the auto?

Don't know the exact proceedure, but all you do is take the battery leads off and leave off for around an hour (some people say 5mins,30mins etc, but I do it for 1 hour to be sure). Once you have reconnected the battery, if you want the best performance, drive the car around like you stole it for about 100km, or if you want the best fuel economy, drive easily for the first 100km.

To get a firmer shift, there are two methods I know of. Firstly reprogram the EEC, with a trans chip etc, or modify the valve body to increase the line pressures in the trans. The modified valve body does cost more, but I think it is the better way to go.

All I do is disconect the battery negative, then turn the ignition on and stand on the brake. The yanks do it all the time to reset the ECU and it seems to work ok.
We did a dyno nun to prove the theory and it actualy improved the hp by 5 rwhp. you can actually feel the difference.
The Americans do this defore doing a run down the strip for better et's.
