EBGT OR ED XR8 SPRINT

Hey guys,
Anyone own either of the above? I own an EBGT, and have changed the headers to genie extractors, and threw away the factory exhaust and mufflers and added a chip. The result was 35 to 38kw increase at the rear wheels. Is this the norm? Are there ant other "small" mods worth doing?

What size exhaust are you running and what brand of chip?
Sounds about right though I think.

Im not sure if the EBGT had modified timing but if not, bump the timing to 34degrees or so and run 98 Octane fuel, this is the first mod the yanks do and they claim it produces decent results. (both in economy and performance)

Hey Martin,
The exhaust is 2.5 (stock size) to the mufflers (changed straight thru mufflers) Then from the facrory the LH exhaust went from 2.5 (B4 the mufflers) to 2.25 (after), up and over the diff into a T section where it met up with the 2.5 inch RH exhaust.The LH side is now 2.5 inch after the muffler, and goes up and across the diff,runs side by side with the RH exhaust into a large cone (basically behind the rear wheel), then into a 3 inch to the back. Sounds great. I have been using Shell Optimax. Thanks for your suggestions. Cheers/

What are you getting at the rear wheels on dyno?Before and after chip/tune.

I don't have before figures but my Sprint has Genie headers, dual 2.5" pipes running to the back with an H-pipe. 1 muffler +1 cat per side. Dynoed at 164rwkw recently.

Also have mod to airbox to allow air to feed from fender into it. Testing with pressure meter noted a significant decrease in neg pressure with it. I have some pictures I'll put up shortly.

Kon,

That mod to the airbox sounds interesting? What is the difference between the Sprint & EBGT? I've read they claimed 192kw for the Sprint and 200kw for the GT?? What's the diff does anyone know? I couldn't believe the difference with the small couple of mods. Mine has currently 172kw at the wheels-I didn't dyno it B4 the exhaust & extractor change, only B4 the chip. What did they put out stock?

From memory, its the exhaust system only.

Did they have the gt 40 inlet? Otherwise similar?
