ED diagnosis connector

where is it ?

does it hook up and give the same codes as the EA ?

i assume it would because it uses the EEC-IV computer like the EA, but the multipoint one for the EA is different but is still an EEC-IV so maybe the ED one is totally different....

any help would be good

its regarding an ED that has trouble starting and sometimes floods and sometimes starts barely and chugging at about 200rpm then creeping up to normal idle.

The EB II and ED models with the 4.0 engine do use a different EEC-IV computer set-up. It has integrated control of the transmission. It would be in the same location as the EA one, but as for compatibility with older EA testing equipment, I can't comment.

It uses a OBD 1 connector on the leading edge of the dash below the fuse box similar to the one in the EEC V El here: http://www.autoemf.com.au/ford_eec5.htm Same pinouts as the EL except there is no air bag memory clear and the 3 STO pins are therefore moved one pin to the left. You can extract the codes in the same way as with the EA/EB series; you might find it useful to buy some small phone plug terminals to fit it though.
