Hi guys,
My mums ED has started to backfire occasionally when she starts it. Its an ED Falcon i6 on Gas. Any ideas whats going on?
Also, it no longer runs on petrol at all due to her never switching over for a while, is there a quick fix for this?

Replace leads. Bad ignition is one reason and a good place to start.Atleast meg the leads if newish..

The not running on petrol might be because the injectors are blocked - when you switch to petrol, can you hear the fuel pump?

only thing that causes gas to backfire is plugs,leads or sucking in air around the gas mixer.Not runnning on petrol sounds like a stuffed fuel pump

The diaphram in the mixer could be had it. The IMPCO brand LPG systems tend to have this problem especially if they were taxis in a previous life.

we had this prob with my parents EB... was leads causing a crossfire or somthing :)

the bloody car has gone thru about 4 sets in its life!!
