Question EF with 200k and running Mobil One

Just wondering if theres anyone here who has an EF with over 200k on the clock and running Mobil One? IF so is the engine clattering hot or cold or is it running spot on.
I'm thinking of trying Mobil S a go as it's 15w - 50 as opposed to 5w - 50.

Also for anyone who has an Inline 6 over 200k what oils is everyone running?

My EA has 287,000+ and I usually throw in Shell Helix.

My mechanic along with a lot of others have told me not to run Mobile in my car or any falcon because it eats the oil away and you will have to keep refuelling it.

Actually, come to think of it, a work falcon had the problem what you had and one of our workers kept putting more and more in, told its to thin and crap.

Aforrd real oil buddy! .. Shell! :) Check your breather hose as well (on the rocker cover)

Just a thought/experience!

im using caltex magnatec, think its 10W/40
and i got 192,000 on the clock, it does clatter for about 2sec on cold start in the morning, but then its hunky dory for the rest of the day

u dont need to use a 5W oil in a ford I6, whats recommened does the trick all the time, spending mega bucks on the hot shit oil wont make much of a difference

This might be the case, but 5w oil is too thin and will make things rattly...Especially since it's a high mileage car.

Ok i've been abit confussed about oils. IF the bottom figure ie the 5 in 5w-50 is the weight of the oil. Whats the other figure for the 50.

Because Helix is 5w/40 and i always assumed that the 2nd figure is what determines the weight.
