I am surprised they didnt add the ELGT Airbox Lid to the list, considering it has the alloy Bellmouth at the opening, Which is meant to aid flow considerably..

Yeah this is a pretty common and effective mod. There's a rundown in the workshop section of aufalcon.com
Ford want about $90 for the airbox lid but I'm sure a wrecker could do one cheaper (except for pick n payless at blacktown nsw, bastards).

Thats funny how low the flow is in our cars.My old xc 6 ran a 650 vacuum secondaries holley .I thought the air requirements for our engines at 500rpm was around 330 cfm!!!!

Its an 80mm tube in the EF vs the 55mm for the AU. To my knowledge the funnell is part of the lid. Its only the lid you need replacing. The base should be the same size.

sweet thanks for that link..i saw the part about the BA intake and im wondering if that would be as good as a mandrel bent intake?
It won't look as good as the mandrel bent. Plus the BA once is ribbed so would slow the airflow inside. How much effect this would really have on your overall performance my be neglible tho.
I'm still hanging on having an intake pipe like the one in the pic below. Its on one of the guys in the forums cars here. Its pretty sweet.

XR_Strider_Guy has the full set-up with EF lid and BA intake pipe on his AU. I don't know if it's quite as good as a mandrel bent pipe, but it's a hell of a lot cheaper to get the part.
