hi there im new to all this... and i am in need of some help a.s.a.p.
our 96 ef falcon will not start at all, we drove it fine to the shopping centre and then when we went to leave it wouldn't turn over at all.. we can hear the fuel pump and a clicking noise when we try to turn it over.. the lights all work (headlights, interior and dash lights) we are stumped as to why this has happened and we need some help to fix it a.s.a.p. as it is our only car..

check plug by pulling out of distributor and turn engine over. If it fires you good on 1 part. Check to see if you have gas, fuel pump coming and cuting off is important if fuel is being pump. Could still be faulty. If you have fire and gas try to listen for back fire. this indicates jump time.

If I understand your post correctly... it won't turn over and that is when you hear the clicking noise. If so, I would suspect weak battery or bad connection. Have you tried to jump start it? If so, what happened?

we tried jumping it this morning and we still got the same thing happening..

thanks for all your help problems fixed now, it was the starter motor..
