I am in the process of replacing the so-called quick release fitting on an EF heater hose, but it seems to be stuck on to the metal engine outlet. I have limited ability to get any rotational grasp onto the fitting, and will have to belt it off somehow otherwise. Before I do that, am I possibly missing something here? The reason I ask is that I have always unclamped the hose from the fitting when flushing the cooling system. I _assume_ there is supposed to be some easier way, correct?

Standard practice is to fit the hoses with non-hardening gasket goo sealant. Dealers will cut the hose off but a pair of water pump pliers (large slip joint) will move it.
