Michael.Spence Registered User Join Date: Aug 2007 Posts: 8	Are EFI and MPEFI fuel pumps interchangeable? EA 4.0 MPEFI 5 Speed Manual Had problems with it starting - see EA-No Starter - which was the fuel pump. Changing the pump solved the problem. When I changed the pump I installed a pump for an EFI. This seamed to be working fine for couple of months, but now the motor is running in a cycle, eg when idling it runs normal then slows down then runs normal again and slows down etc etc . . . . and after a minute or so it stalls. If I try to drive it I have to give it heaps of revs and it then backfires and stalls. Does anyone know if this could be the pump now breaking down, or is this something else. Any suggestions much appreciated Michael
