EFII Water Pump

Aaargh, just noticed my car is leaking coolant, it is coming from the steel pipe that goes into the back of the water pump, only leaks when cold. Do you have to remove the water pump to fix this o-ring and if so is the water pump hard to remove?

You don't have to remove the water pump. Just unbolt the bypass pipe from the exhaust side of the block & at the rear of the engine, then lever the pipe rearwards to dislodge it from the pump. Green colored o'rings are availiable from Ford that won't leak again.

If you take the water pump off, you will most likely damage the gasket, which requires a new water pump assembly to fix ($130). As Dakweed says, lever it of gently. It's a cheap fix.
