I have a 97 EL Ghia with 130kms on the clock, currently only modifications are 2 1/2" exhaust, extractors, lowering, upgraded cross-drilled/slotted rotors, pod filter in airbox with AU XR8 snorkel, and wheels. I am in receipt of $10000 and looking for serious power gains. This $ has to cover any auto gearbox and differential requirements also.

I am unsure whether to look at supercharging, turboing or leaving it naturally aspirated.

Any information and pricing would be greatly appreciated

I'm guessing it's a 6, because you have used an AU XR8 snorkel.

IMO, you would be better going blown, as you get better driveability, better economy (if you drive normally), and it's cheaper for the power.

CAPA Sell complete supercharger kits for Falcons, www.capa.com.au they have prices on their site.

There is a 10-sec EL Ghia 6cyl on www.fullboost.com.au - although he has spent lots more than 10 Grand, that is a good example of a turbo EL.

EL Ghia's come with the XR6 motor and LSD, which is a good start. There isn't much that can be done to the BTR box, but they are fairly strong. A big front mount trans cooler is a must, and a shift kit would be a benefit, and help the trans last longer.

Well, your 1/2 way there.....

I would say wack on a blower (6000$)
and get the auto rebulilt with a 2500 hi stall and 2nd trans cooler (bypass the radiator cooler and run 2x core coolers) and also the necessary S5 from the AU ($2500 - $3000)

I wouldnt do the box initially, id wait for it to die, mines just touched 210,000 k's around 40,000 with the blower, and its only just starting to do stupid things....

You already have the 4 pinion LSD, and the motor is only just run in. No engine mods will be necessary with anywhere upto 10 psi boost. I ran my 170,000k motor with a blower for around 20,000 k's before i rebuilt it, and basically it was a waste of time (apart from slightly tarnished big ends) as bores, mains etc were all spot on, i thoght the blower would kill it, but it didnt.

You wont wnd up with a 10sec car, but it will, like mine, be fun to drive daily...
