Hey all, i accidentally put a crack in my right side mirror on my EL. I was wondering how do i take the mirror off? Also how much is it to replace?

Here is how you remove the mirror glass.

1. Position the mirror in its innermost position, so the outer edge of the glass becomes accessible.

2. Wearing a pair of gloves to prevent injury, grasp the mirror glass and pull firmly until the retainers disengage from the mirror motor plate. Note the position of the spring.

3. Apply a small amount of petroleum jelly to each retainer of the new mirror glass. Position the spring as noted on removal and push the glass onto the motor plate. Ensure that all the retainers are correctly engaged.

The mirror glass is about $20 i think! Good luck!

Because thats what the workshop manual says to do! :s6:

My guess is it will be easier t slide the clips back in and it would act as a bonding agent too.

got a prob, installed the new mirror but i cant adjust it? The motor seems to be working, but just the mirror doesnt move?
