electric choke question

electric choke question

this might come off as really stupid, but oh well!

My carb is a motorcraft 2150 2bbl with an electric/heat-tubed choke.

My choke cap is essentially the same as the attachment.
When I put the metal shroud on to screw the cap in, the shroud is only touching/contacting the left side's metal. I'm assuming both sides are ground and it's ok if just one side has contact with the shroud-
or am I wrong and both need to be in contact for the choke to be working correctly?
