Hi i just bought a 1997 t-bird l/x with the 3.8 v6 ok the problem is the electric cooling fan wont kick on, the temp gauge needle rides in the middle between cold and hot seems like it should kick on by that temp, it's wierd i unpluged the coolant temp sensor plug wile engine was running fan came on but car wouldnt start with that unpluged so i bought a new sensor hoping that was the problem but that didnt work,is there some one here that can help me with this problem,any suggestions will be real helpful....Thanks

usually fan problems are relay related but if it isnt overheating then i wouldnt worry just yet, if its right in the normal range then the thermostat is handling the temp fine. that car is made big enough to handle a 5.0 V8 so the radiator is big enough to handle average driving conditions without the fan. turn the a/c on and see if it runs.
