Hello,

I am from the states and have been waiting for EMS to release their 8860 for what seems like forever now. They keep pushing the release date back for overseas sales and claim that it was released locally in Australia in early June, if I remember correctly. What I was wondering is if that infact is true. Has it been released in Australia? Does anyone have it yet? How good is it? If anyone has it I'd love to hear details about it.

If no one has it and it hasn't been released, shame on EMS. Maybe I'll look elsewhere.

BTW the reason they told me they wanted to wait to ship it overseas was to get time to test it locally.

EMS = Engine Management System, which is a company in Australia that makes stand alone ECUs. The Dual Sport seems to be the most common one they produce, there is also the Stinger I & II and the newest computer is the 8860. Compareable to Halteks.

I have been waiting for the 8860 for about 3 months or more now for a project motor.
It is the first apparently affordable 8 injector output SEFI unit. Wolf is still bank as are the others that are sub 2.5k Aus.

I have been told that they are testing it. That they are waiting to get software done. That their software tester went OS for a bit. They havent got an ETA for it etc etc.

I am now going to use an EEC-IV and a tweecerRT instead. Its a tiny bit more expensive but it has one big advantage. IT EXISTS!!!!

Yes I was waiting for ems too. Apparently they had a manu make up all the boards etc but didn't solder all the earths and went back. They are waiting for insurance etc for it is a costly exercise...The only one available is the stinger bottom of the range.. Duel sport is sold out!!! Yes I kept ringing them too.The answer was always next month. Thats from Jan...

Yep ebxr8240 and tonyk nailed it. I've also been waiting since Jan/Feb with my car "band-aid" to work while I wait for this thing. And I also get the "next month" remark, only for like the last 6 months! Well I guess its time to look at other options.
