Engine Builders -Recommendations?

Fellas,
Im after someone to put back together my 302w.

I have all the parts, and everything has been recoed, just needs assembly, i will be supplying gaskets, leads etc...

Need someone professional, in Sydney, and that can give a warranty --basically cos i trust no mechanic.

If anyone has any recommendations, please shoot them to me, also:

What is a fair price to expect to pay for a task like this?

Re: Engine Builders -Recommendations?

I don't know if anyone would give a warranty for work that they can not vouch for - eg if there was a problem with the machining, who would wear that??? - the mechanic or the machine shop(you)?

Why not have a go at building it yourself?

Re: Engine Builders -Recommendations?

as long as your parts have been machined to correct sizes( check with accurate measureing devices) putting it together is easy, just need a factory rebuild book on a 302, and a torque wrench.

Re: Engine Builders -Recommendations?

if you do attempt to build it make sure everything you put in is SPOT LESS especialy the bores other wise you will have a stuffed motor in no time. also oil all moving part areas like crank journals, cam journals, lobes, bores etc, etc.

Re: Engine Builders -Recommendations?

i got two books here which are a very good read when it comes to building V8s:

How to build max performance Ford V8s on a budget - Gearge Reid - ISBN: 1-884089-55-0

Engine Blueprinting - Rick Voegelin - ISBN: 1-884089-26-7

those two books are the ones to read when it comes to buiding engines
