my brothers nissan pulsar '85 has a problem with overheating :dead: . It goes through lots of coolant (filled it up this morning, coolant overflow reseviour and top part of radiator now empty) but i haven't found any leaks under the car. Also it has a lot of white and grey smoke from the exhaust even wehen hot. also misfires while acccelerating. Any help/suggestions are appriciated

IS the oil milky, or any milky residue under the oil cap??

no, oil is its normal colour. When i just added some, the exhaust smelt like burnt oil and coolant

I wouldnt bother taking it to a workshop as they will charge you anything between $600-over a grand, and thats if the motor isnt rooted also.
Is that the same engine as what the Camira had?

How many kms are on it? If its high, then go to the wreckers, get another engine, and slot it in.

Its leaking coolant into the combustion chamber - out exhaust.
Yep its a good ole Holden shit box Camira mill esp iff its sohc.
Head gasget and torque the shit out of it. Alloy pulls down quite well..otherwise the cam bearings need re aligning..

Those engine also have a habit of cracking the block, make sure that gets checked when the head comes off...
