Seems that my engine mounts in my car are absolutely foked!

I was taking off fast the other day, and this really horible sound came from the engine bay. It sounds like it was the engine mount about to let my engine hit the ground....... :dead:

But as I don't have time/money it might be few weeks till i get them replaced. Would this do any damage to anything at all??

The engine mounts in your XF should be ok as long as you don't give it too much curry - the only thing I could think of would be a little bit more movement in your universals.

*stupid question* but how can you tell that you have soft engine mounts?

Get under the car and stick a jack handle or something of the sort between the crossmember and the engine and check for movement on either side. Sometimes the bolts can come loose, or if the mount(s) are stuffed the horrible noise might be the fan hitting the shroud when the engine lifts up. If a mount is broken it is usually the passenger side that goes.

marlows engine mounts lasted two weeks with my fairlaine
when you replace it try repco might last longer .

if you need a hand changing it only a 10 min job give me a call
