engine playing up
ok ive got a xf carbied alloy xflow with a auto . and yesterday when i got to a hill the engine began to die right when i got to ahill .then when i got just over the hill it wouldnt respond straight away ,but the eventutually it did with a few pumps of the accelerator .
i got down to the traffic lights and when i stopped so did the engine .
this happend to me once more about a k down the road but woudl not start for a while .but i did manage to get home .lucky .
now you can start the car but if you let it idle then the car shakes and runs wierdly untill you give it a little accelerator .
the way the car behaves when it is doing its little thing is how a car acts when you are running out of fuel .
so if any one has had a problem like this before and managed to find what it was ,please help .
im going to check today :
plugs and points leads ,rotor.see if it is getting fuel .
if i cant find out what the prob is soon i think i will just put a new engine in
what should i expect to pay for a good going engine .,or should i find a xf cheap with a good motor in it .and a manual so i can do a manual conversion .
