Hi
Can anyone advise me what might cause a loud knock from the rear of the car almost like someone has just shut the boot it might be from under the rear seat. the knock comes some times when the car is first starting,
But here is the interesting bit it always happens if the car is started with the heater fan running, but not until the fan is switched off please dont think this is exhaust knock etc it is defiantley something to do with an electrical surge. After it has banged if the engine is turned off and left for about twenty minutes it will do it again when restarted but not if it is tried straight away. I have a good basic mechanical knowledge of cars take it from me this is slightley unusal.
