Hey I just got a quote for an exhaust system and this is what i got, what to you ppl think??:

High Flow Cat Stainless steel
Intermediate section stainless steel
rear section (including muffler) stainless steel
Extractors mild steel

Total = $925

Is this price average, good or bad??

hey,
who its from i cant answer.

I am doing some work for him for the week, for free (part of school) and the topic of exhausts came up, he ran me up a qoute but said that i cant go telling any one else because he cant afford to do that for everybody.

What would you usually be looking for for something like that, the only thing not stainless is the extractors which he said he wouldnt bother with.

I paid around $1350 for mine from Exhaust Techniques, on interest free, so I may not have got the best deal, but I do have a ten year warantee, make sure you get that.....if it aint waranteed for that long it aint stainless....

I did get quotes from D&T and a few other places and there were almost all the same, so it was just a case of tossing up a coin......

What sort of headers is he putting on? I assume we're talking about a Falcon I6 here???

Extractors would be the first thing I make sure is stainless, especially if you are buying a stainless converter.

If you're not sure why, do a search on exausts and you'll see.

Yep its a I6, I will be able to make sure its stainless, cause i will be helping him fit it. I just wasnt really planning this quite so soon, i wanted to stick a kit on... but....

thanks guys, I have talked to alot of people and taken into consideration to what all of you have said and i think i will go stainless up to and including the cat then mild extractors.

One little question, which might be obvious, but i dont know about is that if you fit turbo to a car do you have to change the exhaust??
