Fading coolant colour??

I got a bottle of self-mixed Nulon Coolant in my car and I guess the sun gets to it behind the drivers seat. Anyway the colour has faded substantially!!!

Is it still good? Maybe the light has just broken down the colour pigments or something..

Who knows...

Dan..

Re: Fading coolant colour??

Grab a set of coolant test strips and check it out.

It's about 10 bucks for a bottle of them.

Re: Fading coolant colour??

It's not that expensive - yeah has a great supposed service life but I don't think I'll be keeping it much longer than 12 months before I change it.

Glucose or glycol? Probably the later I reckon.

Just use some sealant and you won't have any leakage at all and if you do then you have a thermostat or housing gasket issue.
