I have been told by someone that a fairmont has a sports exaust or a bigger exaust on it. I thought this was true when every ea and eb fairmont I seen had such a better sound to it. The other day I was told the oposite could someone please straighten me out and tell me whats going on as I am almost certain the fairmont has a better exaust than the gl's and gli's. Also should I go for a new exaust or a tune up?? as my budget only allows for one.

The exhaust was the same, but the MPI cars certainly sound nicer than CFI equivalents

Well, I have an ED Fairmont and the sound from the exhaust sounds pretty good for a 100% stock car compared to the later stock models. It starts of with a bit of a rumble then levels out. I'mm happy with mine for the moment but will change it to sound even more better.

Put a set of pacemaker extractors with the extended secondaries on it with a mercury 2.5 inch prefab exhaust. I did this on my EB fairmont 6, plus i added a K&N pod filter. With a 3.23 LSD it ran 14.9 on optimax, i was very happy.
BUT Now its time for 8 pots, NOS and Boost. :-)

well mine is absolutly stock and i swear it sounds better than any other stock EA i have come across...its a very deep throaty sound....gets a people to turn their heads..
