ok guys i just got a few questions to ask...
in an ea what is the average fuel usage??
mine is about $25 worth dose me latly 150ks?? to me it seems like alot???its more than it was before anyway
my car seems to be running pretty slugish (common i know) but what are people 0-100 time in an ea..
my car is a 88 EA Falcon GL sedan and is stock...
ok guys thanks my car is going in for a service next week so hopefully it might go abit better
it costs me roughly $55 to fill the tank from reserve to full or maybe empty to full i can't remember, and that gets me a little over 400 kays, 0-100 is roughly 8.2 secs a few hundreths less with optimax/98 fuel... there is no accurate way unless i get one of them correvit thingys that street machine/wheels magazine use
or just drag yer mates magna sports VRX and keep up with him like i did
my CFI manual, 1989 series II falcon S, costs me roughly $55 to fill the tank from reserve to full or maybe empty to full i can't remember, and that gets me a little over 400 kays, 0-100 is roughly 8.2 secs a few hundreths less with optimax/98 fuel... there is no accurate way unless i get one of them correvit thingys that street machine/wheels magazine use, but its definately quicker than my 4-spd XD 351 i use to have, lacks towing balls though compared to the V8 or MPEFI
just drag yer mates magna sports VRX and keep up with him like i did
sh!t i clicked stop, i still posted two things, ah well......
to answer yer question, ea's should get roughly (my guess, ask jack travis for exact figures) 10L/100km on the highway and 12-3 litres per 100km of city drivin, depending on the size of the engine 3.3 or 3.9 with the 3 speed auto in yer 88 falcon, yer 0-100 time would be bout 11-12 seconds as a rough guide...
its a 3.9 and its been more like 10-11 L per 50kms of city driving(well that includes driving into the city around and back)
....
and as for 0-100 time i get 14 secs...
I'm guessing that because your EA is a GL then you have the centre point injection. Same as what I've got, although I figure my 0-100 time would be between 10.5-11.5 seconds. Maybe even quicker.
As for fuel economy, I wouldn't have the slightest idea what I pull because my odo isn't working.
At the moment I am getting 500 - 550 km per tank. I have actually gotten to 570 before I got scared and filled up. 35% City 65% freeway.
I have an 89 3.9 lt CFI 3spd auto. I have recently had the dizzy, ignition coil, high tension leads and spark plugs replaced so the car is running pretty good at the moment.
As for 0-100 times I have never checked although I think somewhere aroun 11-12 sec sounds about right.
yeah i think you should give the ignition system a birthday - new plugs, leads, dizzy cap and rotor. 5 out of 5 EB-D falcons i have had anyhting to do with (i have had 2, my mates and another mates) have all had badly stuffed dizzy caps, the carbon tip had worn so much that it was not there any more, and the rotors were in pretty bad condition too.
so replace all that crap then check your base timing, i think you should see an improvement after doing that

I can get new Genuine Holden/Ford/Audi/Land Rover/Honda parts cheap, PM me!
Go smash the front end of yer car in! I did! and since then my car has had excellent fuel milage! Maybe i just needed to reset the computer properly eh? :) And i agree with rollin, get new ingnition stuff. I got all new stuff about 6 months ago and my car runs great (apart from a fouled auto) and starts spot on everytime!
