Is it legal to have fibreglass body panels on a car in Australia? In particular, I want to get fibreglass front fenders, headlight buckets, bonnet, and other front panels, and boot lid for a 1969 mustang sports-roof.

If it isn't legal, would it be legal to have them as long as I have a steel sub-structure for safety?

Any comments would be welcome. Well, as long as they have something to do with the question :)

i know the front fenders are legal in some states, not sure about the bonnet, i've seen some cars with carbon fibre, so weather fiberglass is stong enough i'm not sure... ring your insurance company and department of transport for more accurate information... all states differ
