The clutch pedal on my 2002 Focus 1.8 TDCi recently stuck half way down and wouldn't operate to disengage the clutch properly.

The guy who repairs the car put his toe under the pedal and with some effort pulled it back up and the clutch worked OK again.

He said that he's come across this problem once before on a Fiesta but was unable to find the cause of it.

Has anyone else had this happen and if so do you know what the problem is?

i once had a honda do that to me, it was the slave cylinder. air in the system could also do it and that means theres a leak somewhere or the master cylinder cap isnt on right.
