Hey everyone, I bought a used 2003 Escape EXT (v6) last August, and haven't had any problems with it. Recently though, the brakes had to be replaced, as they were totally worn down and the rotors were shot. It was costly, I have about 55,000 miles on the car. Mechanic said he's had a lot of problems with the Escapes.

Has anyone else had any brake problems, or does anyone know how to fix this? There seems to be an awful lot of brake dust coming off the new pads...

They do seem to eat up front brakes faster than other vehicles. You can expect around 20,000 miles depending on driving habits.
