This has no doubt been done before, but what sort of fuel economy are people getting in general ?
I noticed that people seem to be getting fairly decent economy from the BA's How do they compare generally to the previous models ?

I've had my EF futura 4.0 manual about 6 months now. When I first got it I was giving it a bit of a caining as you tend to do with a new car. Even so the fuel consumption was noticably more than my previous vn (3.8 manual) I calculated it to be roughly 15-16l/100ks

With petrol prices taking a hike I've been driving much more sedately lately. I've got no trip computer but have been running in dash diagnostics mode and am driving to keep the consumption at a minimum. I uses 1-1.8l/100ks at idle (how that works when the car is stationary I dont know!) and driving round I esimate it'd be about 10-12l
The problem is, despite driving like a granny the consumption is still around 15-16l/100ks! (with and without premium)
Being in diag mode doesn't affect the consumption does it ? (like a 'limp home/safe mode' of sorts)

I'll give it a service soon, oil and filter, new plugs, fuel filter, air filter (k&n) and a bottle of injector cleaner for all it's worth.
Anything else I should specifically do ?
