The fuel pump in my EA shat itself and I'm trying to put in a newie between doing other things.

But I need to know how to get the plastic ring off (retaining nut) around the sender assembly (bit on top of tank but under the cover held down by screws).

Does it unscrew or what ?

Yes mate according to the godbook it unscrews, you need a special tool as usual, but i can see any harm in using a pair of multigrips, it also says NOT to unclip the loom @ the retaining ring but 100mm further back?. Any more Qs

The only book I have atm is a Max Ellery one. Only good for wipping your arse in emergencies. It only gives you half the story.

You're better off getting the tool, or finding someone that does. Those lock rings are a pain in the arse!!! Without the right it's hard to get them up tight enough to seal properly.
