anyone know where the fuel filter is situated on a 1989 NA fairlane?
your help would be greatly appreciated

either under or just infront of the front passenger side of the car

Its under the car on the passenger side, towards theat the rear. If you get undewr there it is fairly easy to spot, the metal fuel lines come out the petrol tank and then go over the diff, just after the diff they go into the fuel filter. Sometimes they are a real pain to undo if they havent been changed in a long time.

Make sure you depressurise the system before you start playing with it.

it should be held on by a pop rivet. drill it out before you open the fuel lines.

So you dont bbq yourself
