I can smell petrol when i start the car and it got me thinkn that i should do something about this... So i dissconnected the fuel reg and there was no differance and then i covered the vac hose and the car ran better, how do i know when the reg is stuffed??? or what could this prob be? Excessive fuel comp too...

do an electrical test the fuel could be running rich

disconnection the vacumn hose gives max pressure anyway, so this is normal......but if electrical is ok put a pressure gauge on the output
