Fuel regulators

I'm about to add extractors and a new cam. I heard that JMM uses higher pressure regulators. I don't know much about this sort of thing and was wondering what would be good? or should i just keep my current bog standard regulator

Re: Fuel regulators

It depends on how much power you're expecing to make. More than 220fwhp you will need to up the fuel pressure. This can be done by modifying the std reg, getting a XR6 reg, or buying a mallapassi reg ($180)

Re: Fuel regulators

No way, you're saying STD the car does 118rwkw. Although you are kinda right cause from EF onwards the injectors were upgraded to 24lb from 19lb which will support ~310rwhp.

Re: Fuel regulators

Well, Ford reckons the EF-AU I6 is good for 157kW = ~210hp (at the engine).

How much does the fuel pump flow?

Re: Fuel regulators

Maybe a AU XR6 motor but a std EF won't do that. Crowcams have dyno runs of one on their site. 157fwkw = ~115rwkw, the actual figure is closer to 100rwkw.

Re: Fuel regulators

The E.D XR6 makes 163 fwkw and has 300 kpa fuel presure. The lesser powered non Tickford fuel regs are 250 kpa..

Re: Fuel regulators

from a recent dyno day, all the I6's run rich, and a DECREASE in fuel pressure made an extra 3-10rwkw 90% of cases. (this was from being part of 5-10 I6 falcons on a dyno on sat)

Re: Fuel regulators

So the regulators where upgraded on the EF but not the injectors, because i have a set of EF and EA injectors in my shed and they have matching part no's.
