Hello. I am totally car illiterate, being a woman and all, BUT my husband let the car battery go flat and he and his brother jump started it. Since then the car starts runs for a second then stops, it just repeats until you accelerate when starting then it runs ok. I know we could probly live with it like that but is it doing the car more damage?? And does anyone know what the problem could be?? Thanks
Put a new battery in then see how it goes. Some re-learning has to occur
with idling (computer-related) If that doesn't cure itself some re-setting may have to be done by an auto electrician.
i had similar problems once when the battery went flat in our AU. take it for a good 1/2 hour drive and it should be OK. ours wouldnt idle right and stalled a few times until i did this.
the charge of the old battery is still to low. i am suprised u can keep turning it over. take it to an auto leccy and get the battery checked if it holds charge. takes 2 sec
