I've got an EF series 2 Falcon GLi on factory fitted gas (not tickford) and its got one of those 'start on fuel, change over when temp is right' type things on it, which can be annoying as it usually changes when i'm sitting at an intersection and just put my foot down, it changes over and the car cuts for .5 seconds and goes again, the problem is, sometimes it stalls when it does this (happened about 2 times in the past 2 weeks) now i want to know if its changed over by a temperature type switch? and is there anyway that i can maybe adjust it so it will change earlier or something along those lines?
I have heard of systems that change over after a period of time (usually a few seconds from what I understood), but not based on engine temperature. I'll PM Bass_Crazy in case he has any ideas.

Its deffinately not a time thing, if i start the car after its been driven, say i go up the shop, go in, come out and go again, it'll change over pretty much as soon as i start to go again, but if its in the morning, it will wait about 10 mins or so before it will change over, thats what makes me think its the engine temperateure, and it will wait for me to rev the engine a little too.
Most LPG systems will start on petrol but only for a couple of seconds until the engine fires. Never heard of a temp related change-over. I've got an NF V8, and I can't really tell when it is changing over as it is pretty well instantaneous.
How can you tell it is changing over? If the engine is hesitating, it could be something else than a gas change-over.
Cheers

1. The switch on the dash changes later (as seen by the lights)
2. The car cuts the engine for about .5 seconds, just like what happens when u change a car's fuel while moving.
The ford dealership said it was the change over.
Right, so in the morning, you have it set on gas. It starts, then goes to gas automatically, I can't tell when it changes. I can't even tell if I switch when driving, no hesitation at all. Must be your system.

yeah, ihave the switch set to Gas, and the car starts on petrol, the light on the switch stays on the petrol setting, after a while, the car will cut for about half a second and the light will change to show its on gas, its all automatic, the change over will genereally happen as i put my foot down, either after an intersection or something along those lines.
last time i changed the car from petrol to gas manually while the car was idling, it stalled.
No, I don't know. I have an after market system fitted with the switch under the dash. Your push button setup is controlled by the EEC V system, which swiches over to gas "after a pre-determined time, usually 1-2 seconds" so I don't know what's wrong, but according to the specs, it should change over to gas in a couple of seconds after starting.

Its not a simple button, its a switch.
And i have been told by a ford dealer that it doens't have a timer, I found this out when i had it serviced, they said it was normal, but all i wanted to know if there was a way for it to be tweaked or anything.
