Having recently had my car resprayed I would like to find the original measured locations of the Ghia and v8 badges on each side of my car.
The measurements were recorded, but I have since moved and lost them in that time.
I would love somebody to run a tape over his or her car for the original badge positions.
As a passionate ford fan, seeing badges in non-factory locations disappoints me.
The measurements I originally has were,
Left side, edge of v8 badge to the panels’ vertical edge,
“ ,top of v8 badge to the top horizontal edge of the side mould.
Left side…. Same for Ghia badge.
And the same for the right side.
Maybe a body shop/panel beater might have the measurements or templates. I assume they would need to do this all the time. Then again, I wouldn't be suprised if most of them just guessed.

It is an ED ,
I measured the locations of a similar fairmont ghia, but each side was different ,as in the distances from the doors were 10 mm different.
I guess near enuf is good enuf, but it would be nice to get it spot on.
Guess you guys aren't too fussy about keeping your rides as original as possible, or maybe I'm too nostalgic.
I agree, usually best to leave them in the original locations.

Too right there, my car was debadged from the dealer when i got it and they stuck it on (drivers side where it looked best). I have since got new badges and used the other side as a guide measured it to the mm and it's perfect now.
I'm a firm believer that the original badging and where it's mounted counts as part of the cars originality.
My tip is to go to the Ford dealer and ask for a print out of the badge location for your model in there spare parts catalgue, they should have the badge location in the data.
Failing that find a car similar to yours and use a paper type tape measure (Ikea ones are the best and you can get it free) and get the dimensions, top, bottom left right. It took me an hour to get the measurements right but it's worth it in the end.
