Hey guys, just put a deposit down for some mags for my white EA Fairmont.

I haven't got them yet, i'll get the whole set in over a month when I can afford the lot, but I'm getting a set of new 16" EL FTR style silver mags, and i'm going to put them on a set of 225/50/16 tyres. Not sure which brand yet, but we'll see..

I'm getting the mags for $190 each, including all the nuts, labour and all that. So all up they're costing me $760.

I'm going to get some second hand tyres with like 90% tread on them, for around $75 each for 225/50/16.

Am I doing alright? I'm new to the mag and tyre scene, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting a good deal.

The mags are not official FTR mags, but the ANZ ones..

I can't wait to see my fairmont with it's lowered suspension, fat exhaust, clear front indicators, and nice fat tyres with nice mags... Oohhh.. Can't wait..

BTW, I have no money, so those mags are good for me!

If 215's are cheaper for on the front, there is very little difference between the two (215/225) up front. Sounds like a good buy though, new or second hand? Well Done :)

The mags are brand new, but the tyre, obviously, are second hand.

I've got 215/65/14 on at the moment, so I've got to get 225/50/16 to keep the speedo correct.

I want the 225's because they look tough on the back, and because my car is lowered, it's going to look nicer from the back. Since I want all the tyres to have the same size sidewall, I thought it would be easier to get 225's on the front too. Would the price be much different anyway, since they're second hand tyres?

I dunno..
