Got Any Idea's - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Gday fella's, 17 yr old here HOPING to get an XF as a firsty, just need a few idea's opinon's.

1. paint job - im going to be doing it myself, im thinking of using a DULUX Super High Gloss Black as the exterior colour, any suggestions or ellaborations would be nice....

2. Mags - not sure what kind, any suggestions would be sweet, and places to order them too...

3. spolier and scoop - to suit a ford i found a local place in WA but there prices are F*cking steep, any places you know about ?

4. Sleek - the annoying silver chrome crap around the doors windows atc wanna totally get rid of that to make it look more streamline, any suggestions of what to use to fix up the gaps that are going to be left over ?

hey mate, mags..that's simple, i'm guessing you wont have to much $$$ being 17 so just get some 12 slotters, in my opinion look great on XF's, just gotta dump it.

Paint the trims body colour - that way you won't have to remove them or leave any gaps/holes. Use etch primer first so that the paint has something to stick to.

I recon rear spoilers look bit crap on XF.
Love the look of a XF lowered with 12slotters, and maybe a front bar.
As for scoops i like the look of the 'turbo scoop' on the www.spoilerfactory.com.au broucher for XFs. Dunno what itll look like in real life but.

oh, i'd look for a XF on gas. They kill the petrol.
Makes sure the tank is in date but (less than 10yrs old), can be expensive to test/fix.

Try and get a leaded one if youre going to run it on petrol, the falcons lost power when unleaded came in

you can clean up the faded black paint with acetone.. you could probally grind them off

Ok thanks, ive heard alot of talk about 12 slotters, never knew what they were so thanks for that, as for whats going under the hood Overdose, im hoping later on when i save enough to stick a 351 so i have a fair amount of power there, but thats later down the track....
