Question GT-40p's - Where ?

Hey all,

Anyone suggest where I could source some GT-40p's for me old EL ? ( Sydney area would be great )

Also are the header bolt config the same as the E7's fitted to EL's ( i.e. will the same extractors mount E7's and gt-40p's ? ) I don't think they do. . but i'll ask anyways . . .

Cheers

They'll fit but the spark plugs are at a different angle and fauls fitment. Depends on what manifolds you have.
Bolt patterns are the same from efi back to the 221/260/289w.

Stock headers won't fit. Pacemakers and Genies do fit but require 90 degree spark plug leads. Mick Webb's SVO Motorsport in Victoria has GT40P's I have been told. Ph (03) 9876 8586. I

Are the GT-40P's alloy? What sort of price have you been quoted for them, You can get complete Edelbrock Performer RPM heads for about $2,600 from Superplus I think

GT40P's generally flow around 200cfm out of the box compared with 215cfm on the edelbrock heads. They also cost just over $1000. The Edelbrock heads are good quality units, but for value for money, go the GT40P's. And with some basic work with a sanding roll and drill or die grinder, clean up the casting flaws and they will flow around 220cfm.

I got a set of the Tickford modified 220kw GT40P's which come with larger stainless steel valves, and with some basic cleaning of the ports got the flow to 232cfm intake 172cfm exhaust. All up they cost me under half the cost of the edelbrock's.

What kind of flow can be expected from the 250kw heads from tickford?

When I got mine, I contacted Tickford, and from memory, they quoted 210cfm intake and 160cfm on the exhaust. This is compared with stock GT40P heads which flow 196cfm intake, 144cfm exhaust and the stock E7 heads which flow a huge 158cfm intake and 106cfm exhaust.
