General TechHave a question that is not covered by one of the other categories? This is the forum for all other items not specifically covered in other categories.
I Have a ED XR8 Sprint, and it has the GT40 heads, however the upper manifold is not a GT40 item (like the one on my mum's EL GT), but it looks like it's a cobra upper manifold.
Will a GT40 upper intake fit up to my lower manifold, or do i need a matching lower intake?
The GT40 will bolt straight up, because the lower is the same for the cobra and GT40. The question is why? It has been shown in many tests that the Cobra outflows the GT40 (212cfm for the cobra vs 208 for the GT40). I have just ported my lower of the cobra intake and it has tested at 235cfm per runner.
In stock form, the cobra is rated at 400hp. The porting of the lower is quite easy so should only cost $100-$200. I had mine done for free because my friend is a head porter. The lower is the restrictive part so thats where the attention needs to be focused.
