Hard start!
Hey all, i've done a few searches on hard hot starts, got a bit of info, but the problem in my EL falcon seems a tad different.
EL I6 has no problem starting when the engine is cold, so in mornings, and during time for the engine to cool down starts fine. But if i just go for trips to the supermarket, buy petrol etc the car takes around 3 seconds of cranking for it to start!
But what makes my problem different is, i dont get big puffs of black smoke, my cars not running rich!
What is the problem? My cousin said it could be the fuel pump? He mentioned that the fuel pump has a return fuel line, and i probably have a leak in mine. So fuel empties out of return line, bascially draning a lot of the fuel from the return line. So when i go to crank again, the fuel pump has to fill the return line back up with fuel, before i can get a steady flow of fuel?
is this right?
thanks guys.
